Rev. Darryl Lee Carr was born on October 14, 1962 to the late Ashmore Carr and Marylean Carr. He is married to Mrs. Kimaly Oliver Carr. Together they have 2 children and 4 grandsons; daughter Tizza Oliver, son Bracey Carr, and grandsons Corinth Mcculley, Imari Carr, Braelyn Carr, and Nova Major-Carr. 

Rev. Carr preached his initial sermon December 29, 1996 at Melfield UCC in Haw River, North Carolina where he served as Associate Minister under the leadership of Pastor Dannie T. Williams. He served as the Youth Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher, and Vice President of the Men’s Fellowship; also he was the Chair of Trustees for a short tenure.

Under the ENCA Southern Conference UCC he became a student in care March 1998 and received his license January 2000. He accepted his first Pastoral position at Holly Springs UCC in Holly Springs, North Carolina in January 2000. Rev. Carr was ordained by the ENCA Southern Conference in March 2007. In 2010, he resigned from Holly Springs UCC and received call to Pastoral Leadership at Mary’s Grove Congregational in May 2011 to December 2015. Rev. Carr has also studied Ministerial and Bible Studies at numerous colleges.

Rev. Carr was called to Pastoral Leadership at St. Paul United Church of Christ, in Middleburg, North Carolina January 2016 and has given St. Paul UCC a new theme: “THINK GREATER”!!! John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children and have overcome them; because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
